If the Fanboys are to be believed, higher sales figures mean better consoles. But as others have pointed out, this isn't actually a very accurate way of benchmarking your product. 

For fiscal 2008 Sony Playstation 3 has sold a respectable 9.2 million units, overtaking Microsoft's Xbox 360 and apparently showing that the PS3 is the mighty machine and adds to arguments fanboys have been having forever.

Unfortunately, during the same period, Playstation 2 sold 13.7 million units. Proving once and for all that in this console war, PS2 is still the dominant force!

Just to clear things up, I own all three consoles, and between PS3 and XBox I see no clear "better" console - at the end of the day personal preference is always where your pals are.
