iPhone 3g, a serious business alternative
The 3G iPhone finally goes on sale today. After months of hype, expectation and curiosity, Apple’s second stab at making a smartphone hits stores.
The hardware and the software are more of an evolution of the original rather than a redesign, and placed side-by-side there is little to separate them beyond some minor cosmetic tweaks, 3G support and a GPS chip.
However, the arrival today of the 3G iPhone also marks the arrival of the 2.0 iPhone software for both 3G and 2G handsets. This new firmware delivers a raft of business features including VPN support and Exchange push email handling.
Like it or not, the iPhone really is turning into a serious business device.
